Traditional Indian Recipe - Sambar
Sambar is a flavorful South Indian stew made with a variety of vegetables and lentils, cooked together with freshly ground spices.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 potato, chopped
- 1/2 cup drumsticks, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup tamarind extract
- 2 tablespoons sambar powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
